Regional Director Bruce A. Colao, CESO V, is a dedicated and seasoned public servant, with more than two decades of service in local governance, administration, and servant leadership. His journey in public service began in 1992 as Sangguniang Kabataan Chairman.
From 1995 to 2004, he served as a three-term Sangguniang Bayan Member, later assuming key leadership roles as Municipal Vice Mayor.
Drawing from a rich background as an SK Chairperson, Municipal Councilor, Vice Mayor, and now a Certified Coach of the Local Government Academy (LGA), he brings to this session a wealth of practical insights and lived experiences. He has also served as a Guest Lecturer on governance and leadership.
His career within the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) includes assignments as Local Government Operations Officer VIII (Provincial Director) in the provinces of Lanao del Norte, Bukidnon, Misamis Oriental, and Camiguin—assignments marked by integrity, commitment, and performance.
His efforts have earned national recognition, including the Presidential Gawad Kampeon ng Kabataang Pilipino (Outstanding Legislator for Youth Development) in 2005, the CapDev ACE Dangal ng Kagawaran Award of the DILG in 2022, and a Finalist spot for the Presidential Gawad Career Executive Service Awards in 2024.
He holds a Master’s Degree in Public Management, a Bachelor of Arts in History and English, and a Diploma in Development Management from the Asia Institute of Management. He is also a Konrad Adenauer Stiftung Fellow, having studied political party systems in Germany.
Beyond the walls of government, he has been a mentor and educator—serving as a Certified Career Executive Service Eligibility Validator, Certified LGA Coach, and Lecturer at the Development Academy of the Philippines. He has also taught at Bukidnon State University, Xavier University – Ateneo de Cagayan, through the Governance and Leadership Institute (GLI).
Today, he continues to lead with excellence, commitment, and a heart for public service.
