𝗜𝗟𝗜𝗚𝗔𝗡 𝗖𝗜𝗧𝗬, August 24 – Preparations are underway in Iligan City for the Nationwide Simultaneous School Safety Drill (NSSSD) on Active Attack Incidents, with participating agencies aligning their operational protocols, responsibilities, and response strategies ahead of the scheduled exercise.

The Department of Education (DepEd)–Schools Division of Iligan City, in coordination with the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG)–Iligan City, conducted a coordination meeting with representatives from the Iligan City Police Office (ICPO), Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), Iligan City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (ICDRRMO), Task Force Iligan (AFP), Iligan City Traffic and Parking Management Office (ICTPMO), and the City Peace and Order Council (CPOC) Finance Committee.

DepEd presented the school safety protocols it developed for the exercise, providing the operational framework for participating schools and agencies. DILG Iligan City Director Maria Maida B. Daniot then outlined the specific roles of each stakeholder, emphasizing the need for clear delineation of responsibilities during the drill.

For its part, the Iligan City Police Office presented its operational strategy for the actual conduct of the exercise, including the deployment and coordination of personnel in response to the simulated active attack scenario. The other participating offices likewise discussed their respective interventions and support requirements.
