Fifty (50) farmers from Barangay Kalugmanan, Manolo Fortich in Bukidnon benefit from Local Government Support Fund-Support to Barangay Development Program (LGSF-SBDP).
During the Ceremonial Turnover of Project Component II (Cattle Dispersal) on December 16, 2021, fifty (50) heifers or female cows were distributed to the farmers as livelihood assistance.
“Dili nako makalimtan sa tibuok nako nga kinabuhi kung unsa ka duol sa katawhan ang atong gobyerno karon, ilabi na kanamong mga kabus ug lumad [In my whole existence, I will never forget how close I’ve felt with the current government and their engagements, especially in our community who are poor and marginalized],” said Carlo Luaynon, Sitio Leader at Sitio Bagalangit, Barangay Kalugmanan.
The project component was chosen by the community in Sitio Bagalangit during the conduct of the Retooled Community Support Program (RCSP) led by the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) and Local Government Unit of Manolo Fortich.
The success of the turnover was made possible by the active coordination of Bukidnon Provincial Agriculture Office, the LGU, and DILG-Bukidnon.
Barangay Kalugmanan identified three (3) priority projects funded by SBDP, to wit: Construction of Local Access Road and School Building, which was turned over early last year, and Livelihood Assistance Project-Cattle Dispersal.
SBDP is a demonstration of the current government’s eagerness to deliver development and sustainable peace to the communities that longed for the government’s engagement to the once CPP-NPA affected barangays. (R10/PO/Bukidnon/Maria Cecille Nagac//Revised copy/LGCDD/Jia Artajo)
