RPOC 10 SECOND FULL COUNCIL MEETING
With the goal of intensifying the campaign against criminality, insurgency, and ensuring public safety, the Regional Peace and Order Council (RPOC)-10 commenced its Second Quarter Full Council Meeting today, May 15, 2023.
One of the highlights during the meeting is the cybercrime situation in the region following the unnumbered incidents involving the children and the youth.
In this regard, DILG 10 Regional Director Wilhelm M. Suyko, proposed that the Philippine National Police (PNP) will partner with the Local Council for the Protection of Children (LCPC) and the Local School Board (LSB) to intensify its fight against cybercrime.
“It is time for the Local Council for the Protection of Children and Local School Board to take active participation in this problem,” he expressed.
Meanwhile, DILG 10 Assistant Regional Director Yvette Tolentino-Sunga, discussed the 2022 Peace and Order Council (POC) Audit which highlighted the changes in the POC indicator and timeline. Further, ARD Sunga presented the Region 10 DILG-Administered Package of Assistance, highlighting that a total of 184 Formel Rebels received P9.6M worth of assistance for CY 2023.
In addition, RD Suyko presented the resolutions on the formation of a Regional Assessment Team (RAT) for POC, requesting the NGAs to prepare a report concerning the Camp Kibaritan Military Reservation, and the resolution for the next scheduled quarterly meetings.
In attendance were the RPOC 10 members composed of the Regional Line Agencies (RLAs), Governors and Highly Urbanized City (HUC) Mayors, LMP Presidents, and Civil Society Organizations. (DILG LGCDD / M. Cabacungan)
