CLGU Cagayan de Oro convenes 1st Quarter 2023 CPDSC Meeting

In order to address issues pertaining to peace and order in the city through
discussion of strategies and the approval of LGU plans, the City Government of
Cagayan de Oro convenes the 1st Quarter 2023 City Peace, Development
and Security Council (CPDSC) Meeting on March 30, 2023 at Mallberry Suites
Business Hotel, Cagayan de Oro City.

Representing
on behalf of City Mayor Rolando A. Uy, who was on sick leave was Atty. Kenneth
O. Tamala, City Legal Officer who presided the said meeting. Also present in
the meeting is City Vice Mayor Jocelyn B. Rodriguez, who is at the same time
the CPDSC Vice Chair, DILG Cagayan de Oro City Director Jane J. Docallos, law
enforcement agencies, department heads from the City Government and CSO
members.

The
Task Force Oro – 4ID Philippine Army presented the situational updates
pertaining to the peace and order situation of the city and its surrounding
areas, while the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) presented
updates and accomplishments on the implementation of the enhanced comprehensive
local integration program (ECLIP) of the city, and the localization of
Executive Order 70.

Moreover,
the Oro Citizen’s Wellness and Development Center as the implementing arm of
the City Anti-Drug Abuse Council (CADAC) presented the CY 2023 to 2025 Local
Anti-Drug Plan of Action (LADPA), with its programs, projects and activities
(PPAs) aligned with the three (3) pillars of the Buhay Ingatan, Droga’y Ayawan
(BIDA) Program pursuant to DILG MC 2023-025, which aims for a whole-of-nation
approach in the fight against illegal drugs through empowering communities,
enjoining the citizenry in anti-illegal drug activities, thus, raising
awareness on the ill effects of illegal drugs.

During
the said meeting, three (3) resolutions were presented, namely: (1) approval of
the 2023-2025 LADPA and its inclusion in the 2023-2025 POPS Plan, (2)
recommendation for the institutionalization of the Task Force Oro through a
memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the City Government to provide financial
and logistical support for its operation; and (3) approval of the FY 2023
Confidential Fund of the city pursuant to COA-DILG-DBM-GCGOCC-DND Joint
Circular 01-2015.

The
3 resolutions were unanimously approved by the members of the council.

Moving
forward, the members of the council expressed their full support to the City
Government in mitigating issues affecting peace and order brought by
criminality, insurgency and illegal drugs that hinder the development of the
