PNP, CIDG REAFFIRM SUPPORT TO DILG IN STRENGTHENING PEACE AND ORDER IN NORMIN

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY, Apr. 8 — The Philippine National Police (PNP)-10, through Regional Director PBGEN Jaysen Carpio de Guzman and the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG)-10, through Regional Chief PCOL Leo DL Sua reaffirmed their commitment to support the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG)-10 in advancing peace and order during a courtesy visit to Regional Director Bruce A. Colao, CESO V, earlier today.

The meeting served as a vital platform to strengthen inter-agency coordination, explore potential areas of collaboration, and align ongoing efforts in promoting security and good governance across Northern Mindanao (NorMin). The dialogue highlighted the shared vision of reinforcing peace and order initiatives, especially at the grassroots level.

A major focus of the discussion was enhancing barangay-level security and ensuring proactive and responsive community policing. The DILG and PNP also encouraged the installation of Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) systems in barangays to strengthen crime prevention and monitoring efforts. Additionally, the importance of highlighting the roles and responsibilities of Punong Barangays was underscored, especially in fulfilling their mandate on maintaining peace and order as one of their top priorities.

The DILG emphasized the importance of building strong partnerships with law enforcement agencies to empower barangays as the first line of defense in maintaining peace, preventing crime, and promoting public safety.

RD Colao expressed appreciation for the visit and reiterated DILG’s commitment to close collaboration with the PNP and CIDG.
