PDMU PROVIDES TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE ON DRONE DEPLOYMENT
As part of the Department of the Interior and Local Government’s (DILG) advancement in the provision of technical assistance to the Local Government Units (LGUs) in Region 10, the Project Development and Management Unit (PDMU) provides technical knowledge on project mapping to its personnel through the Orientation of Drone Deployment on April 7-8.
The two-day orientation seeks to enhance information and deeper understanding on the importance of drone deployment especially being the frontline unit in the implementation of all Locally Funded Projects (LFPs) in the Department.
The drone deployment will teach personnel how to use automated mapping process by which maps are drawn in real time during a drone flight. As the drone flies, it records images of the area below in both high and infrared resolution – this will provide bigger, clearer, and more complete picture of the work being done or the task at hand through aerial construction imaging of projects implemented like roads, buildings, and other infrastructures.
Further, Regional Information Technology Officer (RITO) Jose Miguel A. Siao provided a demonstration to its program’s ability to maneuver a drone to desired locations over the DILG’s spaces. (DILG 10/PDMU/Merryane Rose S. Bacud)
