P5 MILLION HALFWAY HOUSE CONSTRUCTION TURNED OVER TO MISOR
MISAMIS ORIENTAL, Jan. 13 – The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Misamis Oriental turned over the DILG-funded halfway house construction for the Former Rebels (FRs) to the Misamis Oriental Provincial Office, January 13.
The halfway house will serve as a temporary shelter for the FRs while they are being treated, transformed, and prepared for reintegration in the society.
According to DILG-10 Assistant Regional Director Yvette Tolentino-Sunga, the halfway house is not just a mere structure but a home to those who seek for healing and reintegration.
“Through this initiative of the national government, this (halfway house) will serve as a home to the FRs who seek for healing. We guarantee you that the government is there every step of the way,” she shared.
The project costs P5 million and was funded by the Department through Executive Order (EO) 70 or the Institutionalization of the Whole-of-Nation Approach to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (ELCAC).
Furthermore, MisOr Provincial Governor Yevgeny Emano, ARD Yvette Tolentino-Sunga, and DILG MisOr Provincial Director Engr. Marisia Naybe graced the inauguration and ceremonial turn-over.
Following the blessing and turnover ceremony was the distribution of Financial Assistance (Livelihood Assistance and Firearms Remuneration) to 13 FRs and Reintegration Assistance to 58th IB.
