MISOR’S QUARTER MEETING FOCUSES ON ENDING LOCAL COMMUNIST
ARMED CONFLICT
CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY, September 3— Angling its focus on Ending Local Communist Armed Conflict (ELCAC), the Provincial Government of Misamis Oriental in coordination with the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) MisOr, Provincial Peace and Order Council (PPOC), Provincial Development Council (PDC), and Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council (PDRRMC) kicked off its 3rd quarter meeting.
“We need to be together, participate, and be accountable in ending all armed threats in the Philippines,” DILG MisOr Provincial Director Engr. Marisia C. Naybe said. “We must continuously work for the people and with the people in achieving just and lasting peace towards development where no one is being left behind.”
EO 70 addresses the root cause of insurgencies and other armed conflict and threats by prioritizing and harmonizing the delivery of basic services and social development packages by the government.
This looks into facilitating societal inclusivity, and ensuring active participation of all sectors of the society in the pursuit of the country’s peace agenda.
Moreover, during the said quarter meeting, PD Naybe tackled peace and order (POC) concerns including the presentation of ELCAC and the Roles and Responsibilities of the Task Force, Orientation of Omnibus Guidelines for Peace and Order Councils, and the schedule of the PTF Launching of MisOr for Barangay Eureka, Gingoog City.
The quarter meeting was participated by the Mayors and representatives of the different Municipalities of MisOr, agencies such as the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), Philippine National Police (PNP) National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), Department of Education (DepEd), National Army, DILG, and the Provincial Government of MisOr headed Governor and PPOC/PDC Chairman, Hon. Yevgeny Vincente B. Emano, among others.
