MISOR TO LAUNCH PTF-ELCAC
TO END INSURGENCY

As one in ending insurgency in the country, Provincial Government of Misamis Oriental, led by Governor Yevgeny Emano, in partnership with the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), will launch the Provincial Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (PTF-ELCAC) on September 26, 2019 at Barangay Eureka, Gingoog City, Misamis Oriental.

The launching is in line with President Rodrigo Duterte’s proclamation of Executive Order No. 70 to attain inclusive and sustainable peace through the Whole-of-Nation Approach.

This aims to ensure the sustainability of peace and order efforts in local communities affected by the insurgency through the delivery of government services and socio-economic programs that will benefit these communities.

DILG 10 Regional Director Arnel M. Agabe said that without the coordination and dedication of the partner government agencies and LGUs, peace is impossible in the region.

“We are glad that Misamis Oriental heeded the call in creating a Provincial Task Force. This shows their willingness and commitment to end insurgency in our Region,” he said. “I hope this commitment will be sustained and would serve as an example to other local government units.”

Moreover, DILG Misamis Oriental Provincial Director Engr. Marisia C. Naybe, emphasized the essence of operationalizing the Whole-of-Nation Approach saying, “We need everyone to work as one and we need to harmonize all our efforts should we want to finally end the local communist armed conflict in our region and in our country.”

Several meetings were conducted together the different government line agencies that are involved in the launching to discuss their roles as well as to prepare for the drafting of their respective implementing action plans. 

As of press time, PD Naybe is currently attending the final meeting of the launching at Gingoog City.
