MISOCC DRRM TEAMS PREPPED FOR ENHANCED OPERATION LISTO
OROQUIETA CITY –Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (DRRM) teams from Misamis Occidental local government units, step up disaster management functions as the Enhanced Operation LISTO Provincial Convergence and Disaster Resilience Dialogue was held last October 8.
Said teams were also provided with the new Disaster Preparedness Manuals which will guide LGUs, DILG field officers, chiefs of police, and fire marshals on the protocols and standards in disaster preparedness. Its end goal is to institutionalize the protocols in cities and municipalities.
The key participants were the City and Municipal Mayors, Local Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Officers, Local Chiefs of Police, Local Fire Marshals, and City and Municipal Local Government Operations Officers. Inputs during the dialogue were provided by focal persons of the OPLAN LISTO from the DILG Regional Office.
Operation LISTO educates the local government units on the actions to take days before a tropical cyclone hits the country. The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) leads the implementation of this program.
