LGU ROAD DEVELOPMENTS EMPOWERED BY DILG

Aimed at moving forward towards enhancing local roads network, the Project Development Management Unit (PDMU) of Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG 10) conducted follow through activities to Local Government Units (LGUs) in Region 10 for their Local Road Network Development Plan (LRNDP) on February 15-19.

The activity is in line with their previous conduct of seminar workshops last November 23-27, 2020, where participants came up with initial draft of LRNDPs. This time, LGUs were tasked to present their final LDRNPs.

Activities conducted include writeshops, workshops, coaching and mentoring, action planning, and critiquing which was spearheaded by resource speaker Dr. Anabelle Cajita.

In his message, DILG 10 Regional Director Arnel M. Agabe emphasized that the activity aims to ensure that all local road priority projects at all levels of LGUs are incorporated in the plan.

“Through this [follow through activity], we seek to strengthen meaningful engagement of the LGUs and NGAs in the planning process.” The LRNDP is an integrated 5-year development plan for the sustainable development and maintenance of local road networks. It seeks to improve local competitiveness amongst LGU efforts through adequate and well-maintained road infrastructures and better road connectivity.

Further, target participants were LRNDP Technical Working Group and their assigned writers. The activity started on February 15 and will end on February 19, 2020. (DILG 10/PDMU/IO Merryane Rose S.Bacud)
