HOLDS GROUNDBREAKING CEREMONY OF WATER SYSTEM PROJECTS

In the fulfillment of providing an easy access to safe and potable water to families and the entire community, the Municipality of Jimenez, Misamis Occidental and the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) recently conducted the ground breaking ceremony of water system projects on January 29, 2020 at Barangay Seti, Jimenez.

These two projects are under the Assistance to Municipalities (AM) and SALINTUBIG projects, namely the (1) Construction of Potable Water System Phase II and (2) Improvement of Level III Waterworks system.

The Level II Potable Water System is designed to supply communal faucet system or standposts to 2,290 households of Barangays Sinara Alto, Sinara Bajo and Seti with an allocation of Php9 Million under SALINTUBIG 2019.

Meanwhile, the Level III Water System will provide individual water meters to 4,206 households of Barangays Corrales, Naga, Gata, and Butuay with project allocation amounting to Php11.529 Million from the 2019 Local Government Support Fund-Assistance to Municipalities.

DILG Misamis Occidental Provincial Director Pablio Benitez together with Municipal Mayor Rosario K. Balais and Punong Barangay Rosalina Suganob with other public servants graced the activity and witnessed the traditional laying down of the capsule – symbolizing the start of the Water System Construction.

“DILG is always pleased to see that it had contributed something for the development of the LGUs and that the water supply system project would bring convenience and good health to the people of Jimenez,” said PD Benitez as he acknowledged the efforts of the local authorities and functionaries in providing quality service to its constituents.

“We are your partners and will continuously support the LGU in all its endeavors in order to realize the vision of having excellent local government.” he added.

Mayor Balais, along with the local authorities and functionaries present, conveyed their gratitude to the Department for the support it has extended to the LGU and for recognizing their efforts in making the Municipality of Jimenez as one of the best and well-performing LGUs of the province. (DILG 10/MIS OCC/LGOO III Maria Dannica C.
