LGUs, PNP to remain honoring company IDs of essential establishments’ cargo—DILG 10 says
On ensuring unhampered movement of cargos, including personnel transit, of those business establishment allowed to operate during community quarantine, Local Government Units and Philippine National Police (PNP) are advised to continue honoring the company IDs or certificate of employment of the said employees until Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) releases standardized IDs.
The Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-MEID) IDs are required for employees critical to the operation of permitted establishments. However,
due to manpower constraints and the volume of applications received, release of these IDs was postponed.
“For now, we are urging our LGUs and PNP personnel to comply to this advisory, ensuring that we prioritize the general welfare of our people since these are the business establishments that we deem as essential during this time of crisis,” said DILG 10 Regional Director Arnel M. Agabe.
Amidst the implementation of community quarantine, RD Agabe emphasized that there is a need to guarantee that there will be adequate supply of basic necessities for the people, otherwise the situation could get worse.
As of press time, DTI assures the completion of said IDs the soonest time possible. These IDs shall be used in entering quarantine areas during the “State of Calamity” due to COVID-19 pandemic, subject to specific health and security protocols. (DILG 10/LGOO II Rezza Mae B. Tolinero)
