DILG-X ENSURES LGSF-SBDP PROJECTS ARE ALIGNED IN BDIP
The Department of the Interior and Local Government
(DILG)-10 emphasized to the barangay beneficiaries of Support to Barangay Development Program (SBDP) the need to lay down and include their priority projects in their Barangay Development Investment Program (BDIP) to ensure
funding.
“We are reminding all of our Punong Barangays to make sure that your priority projects identified during the conduct of the Retooled Community Support Program (RCSP) are embedded in your BDIP,” said Regional Director Arnel Agabe during the virtual interface with the village chiefs.
“The SBDP is an initiative of the national government to
address the gaps on basic services and infrastructure in your areas, therefore we need to implement the projects or programs your community really needs,” he added.
One of the outputs of the RCSP process is the enhancement of Barangay Development Plans which identifies the priority projects/programs to address the existing issues in the community.
Director Agabe also directed the participants to judiciously implement the projects so the community can fairly enjoy what they deserve. He also said that if the projects are properly implemented, it might encourage more rebels to return to the fold of the law.
“We also want to encourage more rebels to turn away from the armed struggle and reform themselves to become an asset for peace and development for their localities,” he said.
The two-day training was conducted in two batches from March 23 to 26, 2021. For the first batch, participants were from the province of Misamis Oriental and Misamis Occidental, while those from the province of Bukidnon are the second batch participants.
