CAGAYAN DE ORO, Jan. 25 – To promote simplification and inter-operability of government and strengthen efforts towards transparency, the DILG-10, through the Local Government Capability Development Division (LGCDD), revisited the reengineering procedures of trained LGUs, this city.

LGCDD Division Chief Hazel L. Occeña highlighted the importance of reorienting the LGUs on the salient features of DILG-ARTA JMC 2021-01 or the Guidelines on Streamlining of LGU Systems and Procedures on Business and Non business-related Services for Cities and Municipalities.

“We aim to assist you in complying with the mandates of the law. We want you to lay down a detailed update on the status of your reengineering plan including the current scenario in your LGUs, so that we can effectively streamline your procedures,” she said.

In adherence to Republic Act No. 11032, Section 5, mandating regular analysis and enhancement of government services, the DILG-10 issued Memorandum Circular 2018-214. This directive emphasized the need for LGUs to reengineer systems and procedures to minimize red tape and processing time.

The attendees encompassed of the select LGUs from Misamis Oriental, specifically Balingasag, Claveria, Jasaan, Lugait, Tagoloan, and Villanueva, all of whom are members of the Committee on Anti-Red Tape.
