CLARK, PAMPANGA, Dec. 6 — The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) – 10 on Wednesday was awarded with the Gender and Development (GAD) Seal in recognition of the Department’s commitment to the mandates under the Magna Carta of Women and its other initiatives.

Representing DILG 10 were Regional Director Wilhelm M. Suyko along with LGCDD Assistant Chief Myrna Felicilda and SAO Maria Ana Casiño who also received the award.

Bureau of Local Government Development (BLGD) Director Anna Liza F. Bonagua, CESO III, said that the DILG proudly upholds its commitment to bridging the gender gap in the country through the Magna Carta of Women.

Defining the GAD Seal Certification, Director Bonagua also emphasized that “the GAD Seal Certification is an internal recognition and promotion of institutional GAD streamlining within the department.”

The GAD Seal was deliberated and convened through an on-site assessment by GFPS-CO and DILG Region XII who formed part in the validation and evaluation of the submitted documentary and compliance requirements, respectively, set by the parameters of the DILG GAD Seal Certification.

Meanwhile, Undersecretary for Plans, Public Affairs and Communication Attorney Margarita N. Guttierrez called on everyone to unite and create a more gender-responsive society.

“Together, with a clear goal in mind and steadfast commitment, we will push forward on our path to a society to be more progressive and gender-responsive,” she said.

The GAD Seal Conferment serves as a recognition program through an in-depth assessment of the current gender mainstreaming mechanisms of the offices within the department.
