DILG PEOS, ENGRS, KICK STARTS SBDP IMPLEMENTATION

With having 119 beneficiary barangays ready to receive the
services from President Rodrigo Roa Duterte through the Support to Barangay
Development Program (SBDP) of the Department of the Interior and Local
Government (DILG 10), the DILG Project Evaluation Officers (PEO) and Project
Development Management Unit (PDMU) Engineers levelled-off means and ways on the
preparation of technical and administrative documents of the project
implementation.

The levelling off was designed to have a common
understanding between the PEOs and engineers on the program and its
operationalization to ensure complementary efforts between the PEOs and
engineers on the field.

About 308 projects are set to benefit 119 barangays in
Region 10. 162 projects of which are from Bukidnon, (22) Misamis Occidental,
and (124) Misamis Oriental.

DILG Regional Director Arnel M. Agabe, on his message,
highlighted that two of the primary roles of both PEOs and engineers is to
ensure standards and compliance to all documentary requirements submitted by
the barangay and provide whatever technical assistance the region could give
for the SBDP beneficiaries.

“We will be the once to ensure that the 20
million projects of each 119 beneficiary barangays will really go where it is
intended.”

During the activity, Development Management
Officer (DMO IV) Rumarheveson D. Bacal discussed the project menu checklist
which will be used by the PEOs upon checking completeness of documents from the
barangay level.

DMO Bacal reminded the participants to
guarantee that all forms shall be compliant to standards before endorsing to
the Project Technical Assessment Team (PTAT).

“Study the process flow and make sure that you
know the standards and documentary requirements, so that by the time it reaches
the Regional Office, it is already complete,” he added.

RD Agabe ended his message
reminding everyone that while performing their duties, they must protect
themselves by following the BIDA brand of Disiplina Muna: B-awal walay mask,
I-sanitize ang mga kamot, D-sitansya usa ka metro, ug A-ksyon base sa saktong
importmasyon.

As of press time, the levelling off activity is still ongoing
and will run from March 8-9, 2021. (DILG 10/PDMU-LGCDD/Merryane Rose S. Bacud)
