DILG MISOR URGES LGUS TO STEP UP CHILDREN, YOUTH SERVICES
CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY, September 6- In its continued pursuit to ensure and support the progressive realization of the children’s rights to survival, development, protection, and participation, Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Misamis Oriental challenges local government units to push for services and programs for the children and the youth.
With this, the Provincial Government of Misamis Oriental in collaboration with the DILG MisOr directed the Provincial Orientation for the Revised Child-Friendly Local Governance Audit (CFLGA).
The CFLGA Orientation assesses the Local Government Unit’s (LGUs) performance in the delivery of social services and programs for child and youth welfare.
“We need to give importance and take part on this matter. We need to be driven and motivated in protecting the children,” said DILG MisOr Cluster Head Artemio Madridano.
As a positive reinforcement to this initiative, top performing LGUs will receive the Seal of Child-Friendly Local Governance (SCFLG) which also forms part of the SGLG and the Presidential Award for Child-Friendly Cities and Municipalities. (PACFMC).
Approximately 60 participants consist of the Provincial, City, and Municipal ADAC Focal Person, Municipal Local Government Operations Officers (MLGOOs), DILG MisOr staff, Provincial Government of MisO, and the Provincial Department of Social Welfare and Development (PDSWD) participated in the event.
