For the public to develop ownership of barangay programs, projects and activities, DILG Misamis Occidental urged barangay officials to include public and various stakeholders in the formulation of their respective Barangay Development Plans (BDPs).
This was during the meeting of the Poverty Reduction, Livelihood and Employment Cluster (PRLEC) in Misamis Occidental Province on February 15, 2022 at Luciano’s Hotel and Restaurant, J.P. Quijano St., Oroquieta City.
During the strategy/action planning, LGOO VI Carel Jean B. Cotales, on behalf of Provincial Director Pablio L. Benitez, Jr., emphasized the importance of capacitating the barangay officials in the formulation of their respective Barangay Development Plan, and co-create the same with its constituents and various stakeholders.
“The involvement of the community in formulating the plan will develop a sense of co-ownership in ensuring that all programs, projects and activities indicated in your plan will be implemented,” she said.
Further, the highlight of the meeting was the presentation of the cluster’s accomplishments during the calendar year 2021.
The PRLEC is among the clusters under the National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC) which aims to develop self-reliant, productive, resilient and sustainable communities through harmonized and culturally responsive development programs.
