To evaluate the performance of the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG)-Misamis Occidental and to recognize the consistent efforts of the Department’s Field Officers, this office held its CY 2023 1st Quarter Assessment combined with TRAILblazer Awarding on April 19, 2023 at Manuel Resort, Piñan, Zamboanga del Norte.

The DILG Provincial Management conferred the TRAILblazer Award to all City and Municipal Local Government Operations Officers (C/MLGOOs) garnering a score of 90 percent and above as of March 2023 in line with the set Regional Parangal Awards criteria of DILG 10.

DILG 10 Regional Director Wilhelm M. Suyko graced the activity as the guest of honor. He imparted his message recognizing the tireless efforts of the awardees being part of the highly trusted department [DILG].

Provincial Director Pablio L. Benitez Jr. conveyed the motto of the TRAILblazing Award – “No one shall be left behind”.

“We believe, as per our discussion and agreement, that we will change the mindset of a competition, that we are now in the age of collaboration and cooperation […]” he added.

PD Benitez emphasized that this award is a manifestation of the commitment of DILG Misamis Occidental coming out as one of the top performing provinces in Region 10 in the compliance of the monitoring reports and program, projects, and activities (PPAs) implementation in the 1st quarter of CY 2023.

The TRAILblazer Awards is a pioneer system of DILG Misamis Occidental Province which recognizes and rewards the outstanding field officers for their exemplary efforts and remarkable contributions in realizing the office’s objectives and deliverables, and at the same time, impose sanctions to those who failed to perform their functions in accordance to their mandate.

With the assembly of the C/MLGOOs, the activity also provided the ideal forum for the CY 2023 Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG) National Orientation via Zoom.
