DILG LDN lauds Bacolod town for eBOSS implementation, big leap to fast, efficient business processing
BACOLOD, LANAO DEL NORTE, Mar. 24 — Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) – Lanao del Norte lauds the municipality of Bacolod for ensuring quality service and high client satisfaction in the processing of business permits and licenses, through the implementation of the electronic Business One-Stop Shop (eBOSS).
“It is high time to automate our business registration since it is vital for economic growth and in inviting more businesses to invest in the municipality, hence we are very happy with the implementation of eBOSS,” expressed Provincial Director Bruce A. Colao.
On ensuring competent operations
The municipality ensured that prior to the implementation of the eBOSS, appropriate capacity development activities were undertaken by the LGU focal persons to enhance the capabilities in handling the system, as provided by the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT).
“In Bacolod, we are competitive in terms of quality service and ease in doing business. With the digitalization age, we have innovated our structures and systems in our municipality to fit to the evolving needs of our clients, hence we ensured that all transactions are automated specifically on the issuance of business permits, so to attract more business and investors in our locality,” said Mayor Miquiabas.
Through the eBOSS, the Fire Safety Inspection Certificate (FSIC) and the Baranagay Clearance are already integrated in the business permit furthering service efficiency.
Provincial Director Bruce A. Colao also emphasized that the implementation of the eBOSS is one of the indicators in the Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG) and since Bacolod has been a consistent passer of the Seal, it is a manifestation that as the governance areas upgrade, our municipalities takes on the challenge of upgrading their public services as well.
Emphasizing teamwork towards competitive network
The e-BPLS team and the Sangguniang Bayan headed by Vice Mayor Alfons Jansenn Marcera are also in full support to the realization of the eBoss, from revising the existing sections of the Local Revenue Code, to amending the Citizen’s Charter to suit the standards of the ease of doing business.
“This is a team effort, we could have not done this without the cooperation of our LGU personnel, department heads, and the support of the Sangguniang Bayan, the guidance of the DICT, and we are glad that were able to generate P1,718,988.00 on business revenues alone. Para kani sa kaayohan ug kalambuan sa atong lokalikad para makakat-on ug kaginhawaan ang atong katawhan, Padayon Pagsidlak Bacolod!,” further expressed by Mayor Miquiabas.
“As the Municipal Local Government Operations Officer (MLGOO), I am glad and proud of the success of the municipality, especially the efforts exerted by our Business Permit and Licensing Officer (BPLO), Mr. Voltaire V. Lao, and his team. I witnessed the dedication of the team in making this happen, especially in coordinating with the Barangay Council to integrate the barangay clearance, and of course, the support of Mayor Miquiabas. It is my commitment to continue providing support, guidance, and technical assistance to the municipality,” said MLGOO Cherry L. Senturias.
