DILG ILIGAN CITY, NHA PROFILES, ENROLLS FRS FOR HOUSING ASSISTANCE UNDER E-CLIP
Thirty-four Former Rebels were profiled and enrolled for housing assistance by the National Housing Authority (NHA), duly facilitated by the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG)-Iligan City, under the Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (E-CLIP).
The said project provided three (3) options to avail for qualified FRs which are the Construction of a house (in cases that the FR only owns a title of land); housing project; and cash assistance for the repair of an existing house.
Iligan City E-CLIP Committee, in coordination with the Barangay Rogongon Council, facilitates the processes outlined by the government for them to avail of the E-CLIP, through which the government helps rebel returnees reintegrate back into the community and start a new and normal life together with their families.
34 FRs to start life anew
DILG Iligan City Director Maria Maida B. Daniot told the ex-rebels that the E-CLIP program is one of the many ways to show that the government is true to its service to the people, further encouraging other leftist to go back to the folds of the government.
“Kaning proyekto nga pabalay nga among gianghi kay sugod palang og usa lamang ka paamaagi sa pagpakita nga andam ang gobyerno mualagad sa inyo. Hinaot nga tungod niini, makita ninyo ang kahayag ug paglaom nga posible pa ang pagbag-o dili lamang para sa inyong kaugalingon kundi para usab sa inyong tagsa-tagsang pamilya,” she expressed.
All 34 FRs signified their intent to avail of the housing project under Executive Order (EO) 70 or the Whole of Nation Approach in Ending Local Communist Armed Conflict (ELCAC) of the government.
The housing projects are the fulfillment of the government’s promise to provide better shelter and homes for the former rebels to help them rebuild their lives. (DILG Iligan City / M. Raopan)
