CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY, Jul. 26 – The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG)-10, Department of Trade and Industry (DTI)-10, and local government unit (LGU) signed a tripartite agreement to improve the access roads of select beneficiary barangays in Kapatagan, Lanao del Norte.

The implementation of the project is through the DTI’s Rural Agro-enterprise Partnership for Inclusive Development and Growth (RAPID Growth) Program funded by the International Fund for Agriculture Development (IFAD)

DILG 10 Regional Director Wilhelm M. Suyko, CESO IV, DTI 10 Regional Director Ermedio J. Abang, and LGU Kapatagan Municipal Mayor Barry Y. Baguio graced the ceremonial signing as witnessed by the officials of both Departments and various Farmers Organization (FO) of Kapatagan.

The 1.8-kilometer Farm to Market Road (FMR) amounting to Php 30M will benefit a total of 100 households with approximately 400 population in barangays La Libertad, Pulang Yuta, Calube, and Tipolo. The implementation of the project will mostly benefit local farmers in the production of coconut value chains as their primary source of living.

DILG 10 Regional Director Wilhelm M. Suyko assures the beneficiary barangays of fast and efficient implementation of the project through the assistance of LGU Kapatagan and thanked the IFAD and DTI for funding the project and selecting Kapatagan as one of the beneficiary municipalities, respectively.  

“The Department is looking forward to the seamless coordination with our partner agency (DTI) and we assure you that we will give our best to provide technical assistance all throughout the project implementation,” RD Suyko expressed.

The RAPID Growth Project promotes sustainable growth by increasing the income of small farmers and the unemployed in the locality by bringing growth potential, market demand, and job-creating effects.
