DILG CAMIGUIN GEARS UP FOR SGLG FOR BRGYS, CONDUCTS VALIDATION
One barangay per municipality in the Province of Camiguin, selected and nominated by the local government units, will have the chance to snatch the Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG) for Barangays this year.
The following barangays from the five (5) municipalities underwent a series of assessments and on-site visit by the Municipal Assessment Team.
- Barangay Liong of Guinsiliban
- Barangay Balite of Sagay
- Barangay Hubanon of Mahinog
- Barangay Poblacion of Mambajao
- Barangay Mainit of Catarman
The validation was made through documentary review, interview, and onsite inspection to ensure reliability and quality of data.
SGLG for Barangay encourages and challenges barangays to scale-up their performance and practices of good governance that aims to make barangay – accountable, transparent, participative, and effective.
To qualify for the seal, barangays should pass the indicators on ALL of the three (3) core areas namely: Peace and Order, Financial administration and Disaster preparedness; and at least one (1) of the three essential areas, namely: Social Protection, Business-Friendliness and Competitievenss and Environmental management.
The Assessment Phase which includes data gathering and validation was scheduled on May 20, 2019. This will be followed by Online Data Entry which shall ensure the correctness of submitted data and means of verifications before certifying the SGLGB Passers to be submitted to the National Quality Committee.
