CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY, Oct. 10 — In a turnover of command ceremony, Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG)-10 Regional Director Wilhelm M. Suyko, on Tuesday, welcomed the new Police Regional Office (PRO) – 10 Acting Regional Director PBGen Ricardo G. Layug, Jr., emphasizing that the Department will continue to build strong collaboration with the Philippine National Police (PNP) to achieve long and lasting peace in the region.

In his assumption speech, RD Layug urged the police force and the public to be committed to their sworn duties and ‘walk on the same track’ to achieve excellent public service.

“I challenge everyone to focus on our track on what we are here for. Being a Public Servant is not only a job but a calling that requires full dedication and sacrifice. Let us all walk the same track, one with vision and ambition in traversing towards our forward azimuth aligned with the Serbisyong Nagkakaisa of our PNP Chief Acorda,” he expressed.

Prior to his appointment, RD Layug served as the Director of the PNP Engineering Service and as the former Chief of the PNP Aviation Security Unit in the National Capital Region (NCR).

RD Layug replaced PBGen Lawrence B. Coop, who will be assigned to a new station. The latter served Northern Mindanao for almost five (5) months. (DILG ORD / M. Bacud)
