DILG 10 PREPS RCSP CORE TEAMS VIA IMMERSION TO ADDRESS INSURGENCY

As part of ensuring that
the Retooled Community Support Program (RCSP) Core Teams will be able to
effectively perform their functions, Department of the Interior and Local
Government (DILG)- Region 10 conducted a training to involved members,
immersing them to far-flung barangays in Cagayan de Oro City.

“Right now, we are banking on the support of the RCSP Core Teams in their respective areas of responsibility,” he said. He mentioned that insurgency issues continue to exist even after all the government efforts through the years, hence the need for shift in strategies to approach said concern.

The RCSP is a platform used to address the identified issues of the community by closing the governance and development gaps through provision of needed government programs while ensuring that development is sustained and peace is being promoted.

The LGUs shall spearhead all efforts and will be assisted by the RCSP Core Team.

The core teams are expected to identify the needs of the community especially the conflict affected areas. The issues will then be brought to the attention of the barangay, municipal/city, provincial governments, and consequently to the appropriate concerned national government agencies.  This process will ensure that these issues will be acted upon and proper resources will be poured.

“We want to see enthusiasm and at the same time, the heart to serve,” RD Agabe said as he acknowledged the heavy tasks and responsibilities of the RCSP Core Teams.

The training for the RCSP Core Teams for DILG 10 was conducted in two batches. The first batch was participated by municipalities from Bukidnon and Misamis Oriental; while the second batch consists of municipalities from Misamis Occidental. (DILG 10/RPCT/ISR II Princess Jia Andriza T. Artajo)
