As more funding pours in for the realization of the Retooled Community Support Program (RCSP) projects in target barangays in Northern Mindanao, the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG-10) Project Development and Management Unit (PDMU), conducted an orientation for the newly hired Engineers of the Local Government Support Fund – Support to Barangay Development Program (LGSF-SBDP).

The orientation paved way to seamlessly implement the construction phase of the 119 projects with the supervision and technical assistance of the newly hired engineers.

Moreover, they will also work on the site validation of the proposed projects under the FY 2022 LGSF-SBDP, after the approval of the FY 2022 budget.

DILG 10 Regional Director Arnel M. Agabe challenged all engineers to give their best to speed up the timeline. In his message during the orientation, he acknowledged the extra efforts of both the regional and provincial engineers who are one of the frontlines in the project implementation.

Further, he reminded everyone to get vaccinated as this will protect them from acquiring the virus especially in the monitoring and inspection of projects, being one of their primary tasks.

The newly hired engineers will also monitor and inspect projects under the programs of DILG, which includes the LGSF-Financial Assistance to Local Government Units (LGSF-FALGU), RAPID Growth Project, PAyapa at MAsaganang PamaNAn (PAMANA), and the spill over projects funded under the Assistance to Municipalities (AM), Sagana at Ligtas na Tubig para sa Lahat (SALINTUBIG), and Conditional Matching Grant to Provinces (CMGP).

For region 10, an additional 11 engineers were hired and stationed in the following provinces; Bukidnon (7); Misamis Oriental (3); and 1 in the regional office. (R10/RO/PDMU/Merryane Rose Bacud)
