MISAMIS OCCIDENTAL, Apr. 19 – In line with its commitment to provide responsive support and capacity development to field officers, the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG)-10 deployed Attorney IV Andrew L. Barba to conduct a legal consultation session for DILG field officers in Misamis Occidental.

The activity is part of DILG 10’s broader effort to institutionalize direct legal support and guidance to field operating units (FOUs). It aims to address pressing legal queries and provide clarity on legal issues encountered in the performance of duties, particularly those related to local governance, administrative procedures, and the implementation of national policies at the local level.

DILG Regional Director Bruce A. Colao, CESO V, emphasized the importance of equipping DILG personnel with accurate legal knowledge, stating that the Legal Clinic and Consultation On-Site will now be implemented as a regular program of DILG 10.

“This initiative is our proactive response to the needs of our field personnel for timely legal advice. It also serves as a platform for continuous learning and professional growth,” RD Colao expressed.

The initiative was hosted by Provincial Director Pablio L. Benitez Jr., CESO V, with support from Chief of Staff (COS) of the Office of the Regional Director, Engr. Abulcair D. Lindao, who assisted in facilitating the legal consultations.

The Regional Management aims to cascade this initiative across all provinces and highly urbanized cities in DILG 10 to ensure that DILG personnel are well-informed and duly assisted in addressing legal and governance issues and concerns in their areas of assignment.
