DILG 10 CONDUCTS
SALINTUBIG-MARAWI MEETING

To discuss updates and status about the implementation of  the Construction of Marawi Water System project Lot 1 and Lot 2 under the Sagana at Ligtas na Tubig sa Lahat (SALINTUBIG), the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Region 10 convened with the Office of the Project Development Services, Local Government Unit-Project Implementing Unit, and Marawi City Mayors’ Office Staff for a consultative meeting at  the DILG Regional Office on April 16, 2019.

“We will have a consultative meeting to reassure that our project will be successful,” Project Development and Management Unit Chief Engineer Marisia C. Naybe said in her message.

Issues and concerns were raised during the discussion. Highlighted as one of the difficulties in the implementation is the lack of title documents of the project area.

“The problem is that most of the areas in Marawi City are untitled; only a parcel of it has legal papers whose owners are their great great ancestors, that’s why we have to negotiate with the owners of the land,” Alikhan O. Abuat from LGU Marawi stated.

To mitigate this difficulty, the team strategized actions and set deadlines to effectively fast track the implementation.
