DILG 10 COMMENDS 43 LGUS THAT COMPLETED SAP PAYOUT AS OF MAY 5

Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG)- 10 commends effort of 43 Region 10 Local Government Units (LGUs) as they completed the Social Amelioration Program (SAP) distribution as of May 5, 2020.

These LGUs are the following:

Bukidnon- Dangcagan, Damulog, Kadingilan

Camiguin- Guinsiliban, Mahinog, Sagay, Catarman

Lanao del Norte- Bacolod, Baloi, Baroy, Kapatagan, Kolambugan, Linamon, Magsaysay, Maigo, Matungao, Pantao Ragat, Poona-Piagapo, Tagoloan, Tangcal

Misamis Occidental- Oroquieta City, Ozamiz City, Baliangao, Bonifacio, Calamba, Clarin, Concepcion, Don Victoriano, Jimenez, Panaon, Plaridel, Sapang Dalaga, Tudela

Misamis Oriental- Binuangan, Claveria, Gitagum, Lagonglong, Laguindingan, Magsaysay, Medina, Naawan, Salay, Talisay

“Together with the Department of Social Welfare and Development [DSWD], we want to recognize these LGUs, especially the exemplary performance and efforts of their Local Chief Executives and their Punong Barangays, as they were able to respond to President Duterte’s call to distribute Social Amelioration Package Assistance as soon as possible,” said DILG 10 Regional Director Arnel M. Agabe.

The Regional Director clarified that an extended deadline was initially set on May 4 to fast-track the government’s response to immediately address the needs of the people as the country still faces the COVID-19 health crisis.

As of press time, DILG Secretary Eduardo M. Año has again extended for another 3 days or until May 10 for the SAP payout to all LGUs across the country. RD Agabe reiterated that this will be the last extension and those who will fail to meet this new deadline will receive Show Cause Orders from the Department.

Meanwhile, for reported splitting and other corrupt practices by Barangay Officials in SAP Distribution, Philippine National Police (PNP) and National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) shall be requested to immediately investigate cases of graft and corruption with relation to SAP distribution as to the criminal aspect.

Moreover, DILG Provincial Office Investigating Team shall be formed to investigate and pursue the administrative case.
