With more and more projects being poured in the region, the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG)-10 assures transparency of the government programs through the conduct of SubayBAYAN Orientation on November 17-19 at Pinegrove Mountain Lodge, Dahilayan, Manolo Fortich, Bukidnon.
The activity is an initiative of DILG 10 Project Development and Management Unit (PDMU) to ensure seamless and effective implementation of the different programs, projects, especially the Local Government Support Fund – Support to Barangay Development Program (LGSF-SBDP).
With having 147 SBDP beneficiary barangays next year, both the regional and provincial Engineers and Project Evaluation Officers (PEOs) partook to be oriented in the scope of work and the roles and responsibilities in the monitoring and evaluation of the program.
Further, DILG 10 Arnel M. Agabe, on his message, highlighted that through the activity, the public will have ‘firsthand documentation’ on the development of various project implementations in their respective LGUs. He further explained that through the SubayBAYAN portal, the public will also be able to monitor the government’s drive for transparency in local governance.
Participants were walked through on the process system in uploading and updating project details as well as discuss the salient features and new updates, demonstrate the project updating, and remind the focal persons on updating project information.
Moreover, PDMU Division Chief Maria Antonieta A. Porol emphasized the importance of the activity by providing the participants expectation at the end of the activity. “This activity will give you the opportunity to learn a new system for monitoring projects and be able to contribute to the quality of Locally Funded Projects implemented by the Local Government Units,” she shared.
