CONSULTATIVE WORKSHOP HELD TO FORMULATE CMGP PLANS FOR 2021

     CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY, April 23 – To formulate strategic plans for the Conditional Matching Grant to Provinces (CMGP) programs and activities for the year 2021, the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) thru the Project Development and Management Unit (PDMU) held a two-day consultative workshop to the Provincial Local Government Units (PLGUs) of Region 10. 

     The two-day activity aimed to collect and consolidate proposals for trainings and mentoring and other extensions to come up with synchronized plans that will help facilitate the fast and effective implementation of Capacity Development (CapDev) activities as indicated in the Provincial Governance Reform Roadmap (PGRR) and Annual Reform Action Plan (ARAP) for FY 2021.

     Further, DILG Assistant Regional Director (ARD) Yvette Tolentino – Sunga, on her message, emphasized that the activity will help the PLGUs to effectively plan, design, implement, and maintain their road networks especially in 2022 wherein the LGUs will be experiencing the full devolution on the implementation of the Mandanas Ruling.

     “We are ensuring the quality of the local road network across the country by providing both financial investment for capital outlay for the road projects, and at the same time strengthen the governance processes.”

     During the workshop, representatives from the PLGUs identified and rank the top priority training and activities in accordance with DILG Misamis Oriental Provincial Director Engr. Marisia C. Naybe’s category and general criteria.

     The consultative workshop is a recurring activity of the Department to solicit CapDev proposals from the LGUs to ensure harmonized implementation of programs and mentoring that will promote development in the implementation of CMGP. (DILG 10/PDMU/Merryane Rose S. Bacud)
