CDO CITY SK EXPECTED TO BE ADVOCATES OF PEACE — DILG CDO

         CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY, June 13 – As part of the strategies to end local communist armed conflict, the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) of Cagayan de Oro City pushed for the Sangguniang Kabataan to be advocates of peace.

With this, a briefing on the nature and modus operandi of the CPP-NDF-NPA was discussed to the 707 Sangguniang Kabataan officials of Cagayan de Oro City.

         NICA 10 Regional Director Manuel M. Orduña personally discussed to the youth leaders of the city the Communists-Terrorist Group (CTG) Infiltration in the Government and EO 70/NTF-ELCAC Call to Action during the three-day Training-Workshop on the Preparation of CBYPD, ABYIP and Budget Preparation.

          “We wanted you to be aware and understand the situation, especially those in relation to the CTG strategies and activities, because, as youth leaders in your respective barangays you are the government’s front-liners especially for the youth sector,” DILG City Director Jane J. Docallos said.

Emphasizing on their important roles, CD Docallos said that the participating youth are expected to become “Advocates of Peace”.

         Said training-workshop was held in four (4) batches by the DILG Cagayan de Oro City Field Office in collaboration with the Cagayan de Oro City Government from May 20 to June 13, 2019.
