CAMIGUIN RCSP PILOT BARANGAYS RECEIVE LIVELIHOOD PROGRAM PROJECTS
CAMIGUIN, March 12 – The five Retooled Community Support Program (RCSP) Pilot barangays from the Province of Camiguin received different livelihood programs from the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) through the conduct of turn-over ceremonies last week.
The barangays received the following livelihood projects:
· Barangay Manduao, Catarman – Duck Production Project
· Barangay Cuña, Sagay – Diversified Organic Farming Project
· Barangay Benhaan, Mambajao – General Merchandise Project
· Barangay Owakan, Mahinog – Ginger Production Project
· Barangay Butay, Guinsiliban – Enhancement of General Merchandise Project
“Akong hagit ninyo mga beneficiaries, kay palambuon ninyo kini nga proyekto, padakoon ninyo kini, because next year when we come back here, makita namo nga nilambo ang proyekto, dili kami mag dumili sa pagdugang kaninyo,” said DOLE Camiguin Provincial Director Emmanuel G. Toledo.
(I challenge you beneficiaries to improve and develop these projects, because when we come back next year, and we see that the project has progressed, we will not hesitate to give more.)
DILG Camiguin Provincial Director Rhona Pedraza-Abadilla gave an inspirational message to the barangays to continue to develop and sustain the projects provided to them.
“We hope nga magpadayon ang inyong kasibot ug kamainiton dili lang taman sa pagdawat sa programa apil na ang mapalambo niini,” said PD Abadilla during her inspirational message to the barangays.
(We hope that your enthusiasm and warm welcome to the projects will continue and that you will double the gains that you have received in your barangay.)
Through the RCSP, national government agencies and local government units converge to address governance gaps and needed interventions to attain sustainable peace and development.
PD Abadilla also challenged the barangay officials to strengthen their support as local officials in the implementation of the RCSP.
“Dako kayo ang inyong responsibilidad kay kinahanglan, as barangay officials, kamo ang naa sa tugkaran, mulantaw ug mosubay kung kadtong nahatagan ug mga proyekto, napaayo ba o napalambo ba nila,” PD Abadilla added.
(You, as barangay officials, have a big responsibility since you must be at the forefront to monitor and check whether those who have been given projects have improved or truly benefited from it.)
The Province of Camiguin has taken a preventive and proactive measure in the implementation of the RCSP in order to sustain the insurgency-free status of the province. (DILG 10/LGMED/Megumi Tacastacas)
