CAMIGUIN LGUS PREP
FOR 2019 SGLG IMPLEMENTATION

           As part of the core values of the department in providing technical assistance to the local government units (LGUs), Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Camiguin Provincial Office conducted a one-day SGLG Orientation April 2 at Clubhouse, Villa Paraiso Resort and Apartelle.

           The assessment context criteria were discussed thoroughly by select Local Government Operations Officers (LGOOs) who attended the national and regional roll-out to ensure readiness of the LGUs in the upcoming onsite regional validation. 

           DILG Provincial Director, Rhona G. Pedraza-Abadilla said passing the seal rests upon the shoulders of the local government heads as the implementers in their respective service delivery areas who will take the lead in the successful operation of LGUs. PD Abadilla hopes all five municipalities and the province will hurdle this year’s assessment.

        Mayor Joseph G. Uayan of Sagay shared how their being an SGLG recipient changed and improved the performance of his department heads. He commended SGLG for inspiring his constituents to be better public servants as their hard work were all recognized through the award.

           The activity has been a venue for learning and relearning through forum and formulation of action plan where participants raised their concerns and were clarified on the indicators that they were not able to pass in the previous validation.

           SGLG is program of the department which evaluates and recognizes the efficiency and effectiveness of the local governments in performing their mandate for public service delivery the functionality of the local government in working.
