BUKIDNON TASK FORCE ELCAC CONVERGES TO ADDRESS LAND DISPUTES CONCERNS IN THE PROVINCE
BUKIDNON, Jan 19 — The Provincial Task-Force to End Local Communist
Armed Conflict (PTF-ELCAC) here convenes to discuss the land disputes in the
municipality of Don Carlos on January 14.
The activity was facilitated by the Department of the Interior and Local
Government (DILG-Bukidnon) through the leadership of Provincial Director Engr.
Carmelo Enrique Libot.
The aim of the convergence was to materialize a process that would put in
place the rights of the claimants, owners, as well of those who were affected
by the situation.
PD Libot reiterated that the government is serious in addressing the
concern through solution-gathering to help stabilize the situation on a
long-term basis, not just in the municipality of Don Carlos, but of the entire province.
Supervising Ecosystems Management Specialist Ferdinand Sususco from the Department
of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) also presented the One Map
Initiative to the members to help them revitalize the land dispute concerns.
The activity was graced by Don Carlos Mayor Maria Victoria Pizzaro and
Provincial Indigenous People Mandatory Representative Richard Macas. Also in
attendance are representatives from the 88th Infantry Division, Bukidnon
Provincial Police Office (BUK-PPO), Provincial Environment and Natural
Resources Office (PENRO), City Environment and Natural Resources Office
(CENRO), and National Commission on Indigenous Peoples (NCIP). (DILG
