BUKIDNON DISASTER COUNCIL REITERATES MINIMUM HEALTH STANDARDS, PREPS FOR COVID-19 VACCINATION

Bukidnon – With the prevailing concerns on the COVID-19 pandemic, the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (PDRRMC) in Bukidnon convened for their first council meeting of the year on March 17.

Spearheaded by Provincial Governor Jose Ma. R. Zubiri, Jr., the council prioritized the discussion on the preparation of COVID-19 vaccination and response activities of the emergence of African Swine Fever (ASF) in the province.

During the meeting, Provincial Director Engr. Carmelo Enrique B. Libot discussed the DILG Memorandum on strengthening the implementation of the minimum health standards and the penalties of the non-compliance to the protocols.

“The minimum health standards must be enforced at all times especially that a newly discovered strain of Coronavirus is now in the Philippines,” said Director Libot.

Further, LGOO VI Clarence Lynn Makinano presented the
overview of the interim guidelines of the Operation Listo Protocols for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (MEID) and IATF Resolution No. 101, S. 2021.

Operation Listo for MEID summarizes and operationalizes key guidelines for LGUs into concise actionable steps that they are to undertake to control COVID-19. Clarifications were also made in relation to the most recent resolution of the IATF on the uniform travel protocols for land, air and water.

Moreover, the Provincial Government was also reminded to designate their Focal Person for the Safe, Swift, and Smart Passage (S-PaSS) in compliance to the said IATF Resolution. (DILG Bukidnon/LGOO II/Daphne Kirstie Fabria) (Revised copy/DILG-10/Jia Artajo)
