BARANGAY IBA, CABANGLASAN, RECEIVES SAFE, RELIABLE WATER SYSTEM PROJECTS

More households in Barangay Iba and its neighboring barangays in Cabanglasan, Bukidnon, will thirst no more for water supply in the area, as the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) 10 presents two water system projects for Barangay Iba: (1) the Construction of Level III Water System of Crossing Mainaga and (2) the Ground Reservoir of Cabanglasan Water District and One Unit Production Well.

Completed last June 18, 2019, the Level III Water System in Sitio Mainaga now provides individual water meters to 39 households in the barangay with an allocation of Php 2.5 million from the 2015 Bottom-up Budgeting (BuB) Program. Also, additional 29 units of water meter is being procured and funded by the Local Government of Cabanglasan.

The Ground Reservoir of Cabanglasan Water District and One Unit Production Well is designed to supply water to Barangay Iba including its neighboring barangays, namely, Anlugan and Poblacion with an allocation of Php 5 million from 2016 BuB. Soon, it is expected to serve 2,500 metered connections and to be made fully functional under the management of Cabanglasan Water District.

A ceremonial turnover of the projects was held last June 28, 2019 at the Barangay Iba Covered Court, in the presence of Manuel B. Felix, Assistant Secretary for Peace and Order, and DILG 10 Regional Director Arnel M. Agabe. Projects were presented to Punong Barangay Reynard O. Encarguez along with the members of the Sangguniang Barangay.

This undertaking was part of the kick-off activities of Regional Task Force in Ending Local Communist Armed Conflict (RTF-ELCAC) 10 in localizing Executive Order No. 70, s. 2018 known as Institutionalizing the Whole-of-Nation Approach in Attaining Inclusive and Sustainable Peace, Creating a National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict, and Directing the Adoption of a National Peace Framework.

“Contented, happy and healthy communities” – this is the goal of the Department and its intervention includes the delivery of safe, reliable water supply, among others.
