ARTA ASSESSES DILG OPERATIONS TO BOOST PUBLIC SERVICE EXCELLENCE

DILG REGIONAL OFFICE 10, Jan. 31 – The Northern Mindanao Anti-Red Tape Authority (ARTA) conducted an on-site inspection to the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) – 10, to monitor, evaluate, and enhance the operational efficiency and commitment to public service, in accordance with R.A No. 11032 or the ‘Ease of Doing Business and Efficient Government Services Delivery Act of 2018’.

 

In line with its mandate to eliminate bureaucratic red tape and streamline government processes, ARTA has initiated a thorough examination of the DILG’s external processes, systems, and procedures. This evaluation aims to identify potential bottlenecks, redundancies, and areas for improvement within the department to ensure a more responsive and citizen-centric approach.

 

DILG Assistant Regional Director Yvette Tolentino-Sunga, on behalf of DILG Regional Director Wilhelm M. Suyko, CESO IV, said that the Department ‘holds a sacred responsibility to serve the people promptly and address their needs with utmost diligence’.

 

“At the heart of DILG’s mission lies the pursuit of excellence in local governance, a pursuit that promises economic and social transformation, fostering prosperity, inclusivity, and resilience within our society,” she said.

 

Key objectives of the assessment include process streamlining and examining the department’s engagement with the public and stakeholders to identify ways to enhance communication, responsiveness, and overall customer satisfaction.

 

ARTA Supervising Administrative Officer Dominic I. Sanchez and Project Development Officer Harold J. Oga, expressed optimism about the positive impact of the assessment stating its goal to work collaboratively with government agencies to enhance their efficiency and provide better services to the Filipino people.

 

After the assessment, it has been acknowledged that DILG 10 is compliant with R.A 11032. Moreover, ARTA also provided recommendations based on the identified areas for improvement to create a more conducive environment for effective governance.
