2 FRs RECEIVE CASH ASSISTANCE FOR SURRENDERED FIREARMS

LANAO DEL NORTE, September 30 – 2 Former Rebels were given cash assistance by the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG)-Lanao del Norte for their surrendered firearms through the Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (ECLIP).
“The monetary compensation given to former rebels belonging to the CPP/NPA/NDF after their surrender and enrollment in the ECLIP only shows that the government is sincere in its desire to attain lasting peace in the country,” DILG Lanao del Norte Provincial Director Bruce Augusto Colao said in his solidarity message.
The 2 FRs received financial assistance from DILG based on the appraised value of their surrendered firearms as assessed by the Philippine National Police (PNP) amounting to Php 100,000.00 and Php 120,000.00.
The activity was participated by Municipal Vice Mayor Ulwan Dimaporo, LTC Juvegleen S. Escandor (GSC), PLTCOL Isralene Z Lauren of 5th Mechanized Infantry Battalion, DPDA of Philippines National Police (PNP), Annabelle S. Mendez of the Provincial Social Welfare Development Office (PSWDO), DILG Cluster Head Mary Jean Y. Quibranza, and Sultan Naga Dimaporo Municipal Local Government Operations Officer (MLGOO) Camilo G. Cosain.
The E-CLIP is a government program that aims to help rebels and violent extremists to restore their allegiance to the Philippine government. (DILG Lanao del Norte/J. Acierto)
