“Tonight (the award) is dedicated sa lahat po ng matitino, mahuhusay, at maaasahang kawani ng DILG. This is dedicated to my team, Lanao del Norte, at para po sa ating lahat,” he expressed.

 

Peace and Development in Conflict-Affected Areas and Strategic Convergence for Good Governance have been PD Colao and DILG Lanao del Norte’s flag diplomacy approach that brought key political leaders in the Province of Lanao del Norte, alongside the DILG, the security and peace and order sectors, and the CSOs.

Further, Lanao del Norte has been known to be a conflict-affected area and victim of armed struggle, hence, the flag diplomacy approach contributed to and boosted the key advocacies of the Department in creating safe and peaceful communities, social protection, good governance, and efforts to prevent and counter violent extremism.

 

On December 2, PD Colao, along with two (2) other nominees from the other regions were chosen to be finalists of the Dangal ng Kagawaran of the CapDev Ace 2022.

 

The Dangal ng Kagawaran Award (People’s Choice) is conferred to an individual for the performance of an extraordinary act or public service and consistent demonstration of exemplary ethical behavior, and/or an outstanding contribution resulting from an idea or performance that directly benefited the LGRRC or the community.

 

DILG 10 Regional Director Wilhelm M. Suyko, CESO IV, and Assistant Regional Director Yvette Tolentino Sunga attended and supported PD Colao during the ceremony.
