CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY, Sept. 10 โ€” The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Region 10 conducted the CY 2026 Civil Society Organization (CSO) Caravan on September 10, 2026, at the DILG 10 Regional Office Covered Courts, Cagayan de Oro City, bringing together civil society organizations, DILG officials and personnel, national government agencies, and partner institutions from across Northern Mindanao.

The activity provided a venue for government and civil society to connect, exchange information, access government programs and services, and explore opportunities for stronger partnership in local governance. In his opening message, DILG 10 Regional Director Bruce A. Colao, CESO V, emphasized the important role of CSOs in bringing the voices, experiences, needs, and aspirations of communities into governance and development processes.

Among the highlights of the Caravan were discussions on CSO accreditation, the institutionalization of CSO Desks and Peopleโ€™s Councils in LGUs, presentations of DILG programs and activities open for CSO partnership, sharing of CSO good practices, and the ceremonial granting of accreditation certificates to accredited CSOs. The afternoon sessions also featured the Community Grant Fund (CGF) and the CY 2026 Citizen Satisfaction Index System (CSIS) and CSIS2.

Partner national government agencies likewise established helpdesks and service booths, allowing CSOs to directly learn about available programs, services, and opportunities for collaboration. DILG 10 encouraged participating organizations to pursue stronger and more formal partnerships with both the Department and their respective local government units.

The CY 2026 CSO Caravan forms part of DILG 10โ€™s continuing efforts to strengthen inclusive, participatory, and responsive local governance by creating more avenues for CSOs to actively engage in government programs, policy discussions, implementation, and monitoring.
