With the advent of enforcing stricter mechanics in monitoring budget preparations vis-a-vis alignment with Comprehensive Development Plan / Local Development Investment Program (CDP/LDIP) and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), a provincial workshop with the Provincial/Municipal Planning Development Coordinators (P/MPDCs) was conducted on June 6-7, 2018 at Villa Paraiso, Mambajao, Camiguin.
The conduct of Provincial Workshop on CDP/LDIP Review Alignment – Quality Assessment, Gender and Development (GAD) Responsive Project Brief Formulation and Qualities of Implementation Ready Projects involved the PPDC, MPDCs, National Government Agencies (NGAs), DILG Local Government Capability Development Division (LGCDD), DILG Regional/Provincial Project Coordination Team (R/PPCT), DILG Provincial Director, DILG MLGOOs, and DILG Provincial Technical Staff.
Rhona G. Pedraza-Abadilla, Provincial Director of DILG Camiguin, on the efficiency of implementing the projects of the province, suggested that utilization and effectiveness should also be considered on top of readiness. She added that there is a need for Regional Development Council to track the performance on project implementation of LGUs.
Richard L. Villacorte, Support to Local Government Program Oversight Project Monitoring Office (SLGP OPMO) Program Manager, presented the Ranking Indicators of LDIP Projects. He encouraged the use of the tool because it would help MPDCs explain to their clients the readiness of the projects.
Rumarheveson D. Bacal, RPCT team leader, presented OPMO Form 2018-7: LDIP Project Analysis which gave the MPDCs an overview on the project allocation in pesos per project type. He adds that this would guide them on their project prioritization.
Other NGA representatives likewise presented their respective requirements in determining implementation-ready projects.
Meanwhile, MPDCs are further encouraged to come up GAD Project Brief that would show the elements of the Harmonized Gender Development Guidelines (HGDG) tool.
