To further empower the People’s Law Enforcement Board (PLEB) in exercising its functions, as a citizens’ complaint mechanism against erring personnel, DILG Camiguin held a follow-through session initially with Mahinog, Camiguin PLEB members on May 10, 2018 at Katunggan Park, Mahinog, Camiguin. Similar activity would also be undertaken  in the succeeding months with the PLEBs of other municipalities.

Attendees of the activity include the Municipal Mayor, five (5) PLEB Members and Secretariat, Sangguniang Bayan (SB) Chairperson on Peace and Order, DILG Provincial Director, DILG MLGOO of Mahinog and DILG Provincial Technical Staff.

Hon. Rogerio C. Acle, Municipal Mayor of Mahinog, in his opening remarks, expressed appreciation for the conduct of the activity and to DILG Camiguin’s assistance for other equally important programs of the LGU.

Rhona G. Pedraza-Abadilla, Provincial Director of DILG Camiguin, in her discussion, highlighted that as Region 10 becomes a pilot Area, PLEB Subsidy-Assistance for 5th-6th class municipalities will continue. This would mean PLEB members in the area face greater challenge in making their organization functional and responsive to the needs of the localities.

Hon. Winlove M. Labadan, PLEB Chairman and SB Chairperson on Peace and Order, shared that their “one for all, all for one” battlecry could be a key factor that the PLEB will rise up to the demands of the times.

PLEB members formulated their action plan for the next quarter and looks forward for the continuous support of DILG. They likewise expressed their commitment for the overall maintenance and improvement of Peace and Order in the Municipality.

It could be recalled that last November 2017, a Provincial Roll-out Orientation for the Capacity Enhancement of the PLEB was also undertaken to revitalize the organization.
