To promote learning and knowledge sharing on best practices on local governance, an off-site Provincial Team Conference was conducted by the DILG Camiguin Provincial Office in coordination with the Municipal Local Government Operations Officer (MLGOO) of Guinsiliban and Liga ng mga Barangay (LNMB)–Guinsiliban Chapter on April 4, 2018 at Cabua-an Community Village, Guinsiliban, Camiguin.
The Learning Session, which was the highlight of the activity, include discussing on: (a) Barangay Seal of Good Local Governance; (b) Barangay/Sangunniang Kabataan Elections; (c) Sangguniang Kabataaan Mandatory Training Program; (d) Barangay Inventory and Turnover of all Brgy Properties, Financial Records, and Money Accountabilities by all incumbent Barangay Officials and (e) Barangay Drug Clearing Program.
Led by Provincial Director Rhona G. Pedraza-Abadilla, it was graced by the MLGOOs of Catarman, Mahinog, Mambajao and Guinsiliban, DILG Provincial Technical and Administrative Staff and Punong Barangays of the Municipality.
PD Abadilla expressed appreciation to LGU-Guinsiliban for hosting the activity and for their warm welcome. Further, PD Abadilla encouraged the Punong Barangays as well as the Field Officers to ask relevant questions or raise their concerns pertinent to local governance, particularly in implementing the projects, programs, and activities of the present administration. Exchange of ideas ensued resulted to clarification of issues.
Each of the Punong Barangays conveyed their gratitude as the activity was the first of its kind in Camiguin with the assistance of the assigned MLGOO Kathy A. Braña. With high hopes, they acknowledged the vital role entrusted to them and that DILG would always be their key partners for improving the system of local governance.
