DILG CAPACITATES 5 LGUS RE: STREAMLINING BPCO ISSUANCE
Consistent with the President’s commitment to increase competitiveness and ease of doing business, the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) 10 conducted an online training on Streamlining the Processes for the Issuance of Building Permits and Certificates of Occupancy to five (5) target LGUs last October 8 to 9, 2020.
The activity aims to strengthen the role of the Building Officials and other concerned LGU functionaries in implementing the standard reforms as stipulated in the DILG-DPWH-DICT-DTI Joint Memorandum Circular No. 2018-01. The activity will also be an avenue for the LGUs to know of other LGU good practices on securing building permits and certificates of occupancy, and be oriented on the RA 11032 or the Ease of Doing Business Law.
Moreover, the activity was participated by the LGU Administrator, Municipal Building Official, Municipal Zoning Officer, Municipal Treasurer, Municipal Assessor from five (5) municipalities in the region – Cabanglasan (BUK), Dangcagan (BUK), Plaridel (MOC), Calamba (MOC), and Salay (MOR).
The training is one of the series of roll-outs on streamlining of processes in the LGU level conducted by the DILG 10. Since the issuance of the JMC last January 4, 2018, LGUs particularly all cities and selected 1st to 3rd class municipalities in the region were provided with the technical assistance for them to effectively implement the streamlining of construction permitting and certificate of occupancy processes.
